Aspire cnc files4/6/2024 When using Mach3 with my laser I control laser power via a pot (dial). Make a Post Processor for Aspire that utilises the Plunge and Retract definitions. Depth does not really matter because we are not really using Z axis commands in the traditional sense.Ĭommands to turn the laser on and off are M11P0 and M10P0. This way you can allow for tool offset just like routing. Make a tool in Aspire to represent the laser, I use an endmill of 0.2mm dia. Most laser power supplies that I have seen can be fired with a 5v TTL signal. You need to set up the "Digital Trigger" in Mach to fire the laser. Vector cutting and vector engraving can be done via Aspire and Mach3 very well. I'm not looking at doing any cutting for now but would like to carry out some engraving-type work similar to the image I've attached. I use Aspire to generate G-code and then Mach3 to drive the machine.Ĭould somebody please talk me through the process of generating toolpaths and G-code for a laser?
